    The video-based optical contact angle measuring system, OCA 20, is our most versatile instrument for the measurement and analysis of contact angle and drop shape. The OCA 20 is available in the variants: OCA 20/6, OCA 20L, OCA 20LH, OCA 20XL, and OCA 20LHT.

    Furthermore the OCA 20 (OCA 20L) is easily upgradable to an OCA 30 (OCA 30L).

    Features of the basic instrument configuration:

    • Sample table with manual adjustment in three axes, via high-precision mechanics, for the precise and accurate positioning of the sample. Easily upgradable to allow for the software control of movement in the Y and Z-axes (UpOCA 20/30).
    • High performance 6x parfocal zoom lens with integrated continuous fine focus, and adjustable observation and camera tilt angle.
    • Video measuring system with high-resolution USB camera (max. 52 images/s sample rate).
    • Lighting of the optical path with software controlled intensity adjustment, without hysteresis.
    • Max. sample dimensions (L x W x H):
      OCA 20: 220 x ∞ x 70 mm.
      OCA 20L: 330 x ∞ x 70 mm.
      OCA 20LH: 330 x ∞ x 225 mm.

      OCA 20XL: 410 x ∞ x 70 mm.

      OCA 20LHT:330 x ∞ x 70 mm, HTFQ 1200 or HTFC 1800.


    Optional OCA accessories:

    Some of the most important components and accessories are listed below:
    • High-speed option for USB camera (max. 146 or 311 images/s sample rate), High-speed video system UpOCAH (max. 1000 images/s sample rate), or UpHSC 2000 (sample rate 2200 images/s).
    • Software controlled electronic multiple dosing systems, E-MD, for the precise automatic positioning of up to six dosing needles.
    • Single direct dosing system, SD-DM or SD-DE,
    • Up to six electronic syringe units, ES, with precise adjustable dosing volume (min. 50 nl) and dosing speed (0.06 µl/s…26.4 µl/s).
    • Electronic tilting base unit, TBU 90E, for a maximum tilt angle of 90° and tilting base attachment, TBA 60E, for a maximum tilt angle of 60°.
    • Electronic turn table with vacuum fixation, ETT/VAC, with wide range of top plates.
    • Temperature and environmental control systems (-30…1800 °C und 1 mPa… 5·106 Pa).
    • Wide range of sample holding and positioning units. Inc holders for foils or papers, FSH 30 and FSC 80/150, for single fibres, FHO 40plus, or the suction plate, SP 100, for holding thin flexible samples flat on the stage, with an adjustable suction area.
    • Oscillating drop generators, ODG 20 and ODG 20P, for the measurement of surface elasticities and for relaxational studies at phase boundaries.
    • Electro-wetting platform, EWP 100, for the analysis of sessile and pendant drops in an electrical field.
    • Top view video system, TV-VS, for the qualitative view and image capture of the of the drop position (USB camera with 52 images/s sample rate, 6x parfocal zoom lens and adjustable observation angle).
    • The available software modules for the OCA 20 are:
    • SCA 20 — contact angle.
    • SCA 21 — surface free energy.
    • SCA 22 — pendant drop.
    • SCA 23 — lamella contour.

DCAT 21 Yüzey Gerilim Ölçüm Sistemi

The dynamic contact angle measuring instrument and tensiometer DCAT 21 is the all-purpose instrument for the weight-based measurement of contact angle, surface and interfacial tension, critical micelle formation concentration, density, sedimentation and penetration rate, plus penetration resistance. Besides this it allows the use of the optional electrical temperature control unit TEC 250/DCAT,  due to the 30 mm longer travel for the sample stage than the DCAT 11 and DCAT 11EC.

Features of the basic instrument configuration:

  • High-precision electro dynamic compensation weighing system (weighing  range: 10 µg to 210 g) with automatic calibration.
  • Software controlled height positioning (travel: 105 mm; resolution: 0.1 µm) of the sample receptacles with variable speed (0.74 µm/s to 500 mm/min).
  • Automatic electronic coupling lock for the balance.
  • Integrated measurement and control electronics with connections for two Pt 100 temperature sensors (-60 to +450 °C; ± 0.01 K resolution; precision 1/3 DIN IEC 751, Class B).
  • Display for weighing data, temperature and other information.
  • Illuminated sample chamber with inert gas or vapour inlet.
  • USB interface with connection cable to PC/notebook.

Unmatched automated stability and aging analysis

The DataPhysics MultiScan MS 20 enables the automation of stability and ageing analyses for a large variety of colloidal systems.

The MS 20 provides, first and foremost, a precise and accurate determination of the time and temperature dependant properties of multiphase systems. Additionally, it can provide information about changes in the average particle or droplet size, the relative size distribution, and the effective concentration of dispersed phases. Applicable across the varied disciplines of research and development through to production control; the MS 20 ensures the fast, precise and reliable measurement and data analysis. Up to six scan towers, ST, can be attached to the base unit to facilitate time efficient operation and allow direct comparisons of different samples or variability studies of the same sample.

The MS 20 is designed for the software controlled measurement and analysis of:

  • the time and temperature dependent stability of dispersions and emulsions
  • the sedimentation and creaming characteristics
  • the particle and droplets size distribution in multiphase systems
  • the particle size in emulsions and dispersions
  • the width of the particle size distribution (in combination with a Scan Tower with L2 option ST-xx/L2)
  • the coalescence and coagulation phenomena

 

The MS 20 consists of the base unit with the following technical features:

  • base unit with six slots for the connection of up to six independent scan towers, ST-xx
  • adaptive control of light intensity
  • measuring and control electronics for digital temperature display and control
  • barcode scanner for easy and specific sample registration and docum­entation
  • integrated touch sensitive screen for basic operation and control of all connected scan towers, ST
