Laboratory instruments for the biogas plant’s optimization

More profit from your feedstock

The way to better profit from your organic waste is by assessing the potential of its biomethane yield.

AMPTS II® allows you to screen and choose the optimal substrate or mixture to produce the highest amount of methane. It lets you select between different pre-treatment alternatives and evaluate the need for additives used for anaerobic digestion processes. This automated system is based on volumetric gas measurements. It minimises human error and workload demand, improves analytical precision and accuracy, and standardises data sampling, calculation and presentation.

Our μFlow, BioReactor Simulator and anaerobic reactors in various sizes and configurations allow you to easily set up test platforms for simulating continuous operations of your anaerobic digestion process in laboratory- and small pilot-scale.

Most common biogas applications for our instruments include:

Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) test
Specific Methanogenic Activity (SMA) test
Residual Gas Potential (RGP) test
Substrate inhibition assays
Anaerobic biodegradability assays
Simulation of continuous operation of anaerobic digestion processes

Bioprocess Control Automatic Methane Potential Test System - AMPTS® II Light

The AMPTS® II Light is a sister product of the AMPTS® II. It is the instrument of choice for process engineers and plant operators when selecting and pricing substrates in biogas plants. The instrument is used for analysing biochemical methane potential (BMP), residual gas potential (RGP), as well as anaerobic biodegradability and specific methanogenic activity (SMA) assays for a small number of samples. All of this is performed with easy access to sampling, analysis, recording and report generation, fully integrated and automated. - Highly precise and accurate data - Significant reduction in time and labour - Standardisation of measurement procedures, data interpretation and reports - User-friendly operation with remote access.

Bioprocess Control Automatic Methane Potential Test System - AMPTS® II

The Automatic Methane Potential Test System (AMPTS) II is the the research-standard analytical tool for anaerobic batch fermentation testing. Automated, fully integrated and with easy access to sampling, analysis, recording and report generation, AMPTS® II can house 15 glass reactors for tests. These include biochemical methane potential (BMP) tests, anaerobic biodegradability studies, specific methanogenic activity (SMA) assays and residual gas potential (RGP) analyses on digested slurry. AMPTS® II lets you determine the optimal retention time and mix of substrates for co-digestion, screen proper pre-treatment methods and evaluate the need for additives.

Bioprocess Control BPC® BioReactor Simulator

BPC® BioReactor Simulator (BRS) is a universal platform for simulating anaerobic fermentation processes in a continuous mode of operation. Operated on site or remotely, the simulator produces high quality data to give deeper knowledge of how suitable a potential feedstock is for biogas production, defining the suitable organic loading rate or retention time for a given feedstock, designing suitable feeding schedules, and assessing handling or disposal conditions for digested residues.
